Biography
Aljadaqui
Three Decades of Dominican Pop Rock.
Three decades. A story that keeps playing.
Aljadaqui was formed in 1996 and released its first single, “Fuego Informal,” in 1997—an innovative introduction that quickly connected with Dominican audiences.
The band continued to gain momentum with “No queda más,” a power ballad that climbed the country's pop-rock radio charts and marked a new chapter for Aljadaqui.
In 1999, the band released its debut album, TOMA UNO, significantly expanding its audience and taking its music beyond the traditional rock circuit. The album featured “Mentirosa,” which became one of the most recognized songs in Aljadaqui's repertoire.

A sound without borders
A defining part of Aljadaqui's identity has always been its refusal to be confined to a single sound. Pop, rock, tropical rhythms, funk, dance, ska, R&B and hip hop have all shaped a musical approach that continues to evolve while maintaining an unmistakable identity.

Beyond the Dominican Republic
Aljadaqui's music has also crossed borders, reaching audiences in the United States, Ecuador and Guatemala, where the band has performed for Latin audiences and appeared in international media.
In the United States, Aljadaqui has performed in New York and other cities across the Northeast, with appearances on Telemundo, Univision and American Latino TV.
Aljadaqui Today
Aljadaqui remains an important part of the Dominican pop-rock movement. Its staying power lies not only in the songs that have shaped its history, but also in the band's ability to keep creating, evolving and connecting with audiences.
Today, the songs that longtime fans have carried with them for years coexist with a new creative chapter—and with audiences discovering Aljadaqui for the first time. Recent releases such as “El que se enamora pierde” and “Playita Prohibida” are part of this new era.

Different generations. New songs. The same essence.
