01 · Short Biography
ALJADAQUI
Aljadaqui is one of the most representative bands in Dominican pop rock. Led by Mariano Lantigua, the band has built a career defined by the fusion of pop rock and Caribbean rhythms, developing a distinctive sound that has connected with different generations.
Songs such as “Ganas de Amar,” “Se Me Va la Vida,” “Mentirosa” and “Si Piensas Volver,” among others, are part of a repertoire that has established Aljadaqui as a recognized name in Dominican popular music.
With an extensive history of live performances, concerts and tours both in the Dominican Republic and abroad, Aljadaqui remains active, creating new music and delivering a live show known for its energy, musicianship and connection with the audience.

02 · Official Biography
Aljadaqui emerged in Santo Domingo during the 1990s, a defining period in the growth and consolidation of the Dominican pop-rock movement.
From the beginning, the band set out to develop its own musical identity, combining influences from classic and alternative rock, pop and elements of Caribbean music.
Led by Mariano Lantigua, Aljadaqui began connecting with Dominican audiences through a sound that brought together memorable melodies, guitars, stage energy and lyrics with a strong emotional connection.
Over the years, songs such as “Ganas de Amar,” “Se Me Va la Vida,” “Mentirosa” and “Si Piensas Volver,” among others, became some of the band's most recognized songs.
Its career has included concerts, festivals, special performances, national and international tours, and collaborations and shared stages with prominent artists.
Aljadaqui remained active throughout different stages of the music industry. Between 2017 and 2019, the band continued performing live, including appearances at Hard Rock Cafe and tours in the United States.
The worldwide shutdown of live entertainment caused by the pandemic brought a temporary interruption to live performances, but not an end to the band.
When live entertainment resumed, Aljadaqui returned to the stage. In 2022, the band performed for the first time at Casa de Teatro, one of the Dominican Republic's most iconic cultural and music venues, in a show that exceeded the venue's capacity.
Since then, the band has continued performing concerts, special appearances and corporate events while developing new music.
In its current chapter, Aljadaqui has strengthened its musical offering with new releases including “El que se enamora pierde,” “Fenomenal” and “Playita Prohibida,” while continuing to perform the songs that have defined its career.
Aljadaqui represents the continuation of a story shared across generations: a Dominican band that preserves the essence of its repertoire while continuing to create new music and develop new live experiences.
